POSITION: Plant Operators
Asanko Gold Ghana Ltd is seeking Plant Operators to join our Processing Department at the Obotan Site. Your Mission
You will take responsibility for operating, monitoring, and maintaining processing plant equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production. Your focus will span crushers, mills, conveyors, thickeners, pumps, CIL circuits, and other key process sections. Your ability to spot deviations, perform routine inspections, and collaborate with maintenance teams will directly impact production targets and plant availability.
Key Responsibilities
Your role encompasses equipment operation, process monitoring, safety compliance, and team collaboration. Here is what you will tackle:
Equipment Operation & Monitoring
- You will operate and monitor processing plant equipment including crushers, mills, conveyors, thickeners, pumps, CIL circuits, and other key process sections.
- Carrying out routine inspections, adjustments, and minor maintenance ensures smooth and continuous operations.
- Monitoring process parameters and recording data accurately keeps production on track.
Reporting & Communication
- You will promptly report deviations, faults, or changes from predetermined plans to your supervisor.
- Completing accurate shift logs and end of shift reports creates a clear record of each shift’s activities.
- Ensuring proper handover to the incoming shift or crew prevents miscommunication and maintains continuity.
Safety & Compliance
- You will adhere to all Safety, Environment, ICMC, and company policies relevant to your work area.
- Reporting incidents, unsafe acts or conditions, hazards, and security issues to your supervisor protects everyone on site.
- Ensuring full compliance with prescribed PPEs, Take Five, and other relevant safety management systems before undertaking any tasks keeps you and your team safe.
Production Support
- You will support the achievement of production targets by maintaining efficiency and minimizing downtime.
- Assisting in identifying solutions to operational challenges demonstrates your problem solving mindset.
- Working collaboratively with maintenance and technical teams to resolve plant issues keeps production flowing.
Sampling & Housekeeping
- You will collect samples from designated points during shifts for assaying, supporting quality control.
- Participating and contributing to the development and review of Standard Operating Procedures, including isolation procedures for equipment, improves our processes.
- Maintaining high housekeeping standards across the process circuits reflects your professionalism.
What You Bring to the Role

Knowledge & Experience
- A minimum WASSCE or Tradesman Certificate (NVTI, COTVET, or equivalent) in Process Operations, Mechanical, or a related field.
- Between two and three years of hands on experience in a gold mining processing plant.
- Familiarity with crushers, mills, conveyors, CIL circuits, thickeners, Gekko or ILR operations, and elution processes.
- Knowledge of slurry handling and water recovery processes.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and best practices for process plant operations.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting plant equipment.
- Working knowledge of safety standards, process flows, and emergency protocols with a strong commitment to risk management.
- Capability to perform basic maintenance and promptly report defects.
- Experience with SCADA or DCS systems gives you a distinct advantage.
- Skillful in identifying and resolving operational issues efficiently.
- Accuracy in monitoring, recording, and reporting process plant operations.
- A collaborative team player with effective verbal and written communication skills.
