POSITION: Accountant 

Proh Pharmacy is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team. Your Mission

You will take ownership of the pharmacy’s financial operations, from daily bookkeeping through monthly reporting and annual finalization. Your focus will span financial management, taxation compliance, account finalization, and deadline driven reporting. Your ability to work independently and join on short notice will get you started quickly.

Key Responsibilities

Your role encompasses financial management, taxation, reporting, and account finalization. Here is what you will tackle:

Financial Management & Reporting

• You will manage the pharmacy’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
• Preparing financial reports that inform management decisions requires clarity and precision.

Taxation & Compliance

• You will handle Ghana taxation and compliance, including VAT, withholding tax, corporate tax, and other statutory obligations.
• Staying current with tax regulations prevents penalties and protects the pharmacy’s reputation.

Account Finalization

• You will finalize accounts, closing the books accurately at month end, quarter end, and year end.
• Then, producing financial statements that reflect the true position of the business demonstrates your technical skill.

Independent Work & Deadlines

• You will work independently, taking ownership of tasks without requiring constant supervision.
• Also, meeting deadlines consistently builds trust with management and supports timely decision making.

What You Bring to the Role

We are looking for a candidate with the right professional qualifications, experience, and technical knowledge. Here is what you need:

Professional Qualification

• ICAG or ACCA certification is required. These credentials demonstrate your technical competence and ethical standards.

Experience

• A minimum of three years of post qualification experience in an accounting role.
• Experience finalizing accounts and preparing financial statements.
• Experience working with Ghana taxation and compliance requirements.

Technical Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of financial management and reporting principles.
• Strong understanding of Ghana taxation laws, including VAT, corporate tax, and withholding tax.
• Familiarity with accounting software and spreadsheets.

Personal Attributes

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to meet deadlines consistently, even under pressure.
• Must be able to join on short notice, ready to start contributing immediately.
