Job Duties

• Provide professional nursing leadership across the neonatal clinical area.
• Lead and maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
• Ensure appropriate nurse to patient staffing levels and resource allocation.
• Support the delivery of compassionate and family centred neonatal services.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop nursing staff within the department.
• Maintain visibility within the ward and provide hands on leadership support.
• Promote infection prevention practices and clinical excellence standards.
• Engage with patients and families regarding care experiences and discharge planning.
• Review patient feedback and implement service improvement initiatives.
• Respond effectively and professionally to patient concerns and complaints.
• Present nursing performance updates at directorate and quality meetings.
• Identify, monitor, and escalate clinical risks within the department.
• Support organizational objectives related to quality, safety, and harm free care.

Job Requirements

• Current UK Nursing and Midwifery Council registration is required.
• Extensive neonatal nursing experience within a clinical care environment.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in neonatal or related healthcare settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to make sound decisions in fast paced clinical environments.
• Proven experience supporting staff development and performance improvement.
• Strong understanding of patient safety, infection control, and quality standards.
• Ability to manage resources effectively while maintaining service excellence.
• Commitment to delivering compassionate and patient focused care.
• Eligibility to meet Skilled Worker visa sponsorship requirements where applicable.
