POSITION: Technical I, IT Operations

Your Role

In this role, you will provide essential end user support across our desktop, network, telephony, and application environments. You will maintain, analyze, and troubleshoot computer systems, hardware, software, and peripherals. Additionally, you will serve as an escalation point, ensuring tickets and incidents resolve according to Service Level Agreements. You will report directly to a Manager within IT Operations.

Here is a closer look at your daily responsibilities:

Technical Troubleshooting

  • You will troubleshoot local servers and network devices, collaborating remotely with the Network and Servers team.
  • Handling hardware tasks comes with the territory. You might replace motherboards, swap out RAM, fix laptop components, or configure Avaya hard phones and video conferencing gear.
  • Software issues are also your domain. You will tackle OS troubleshooting for Windows 10, MS Office, Outlook, Skype, VPNs, and more.

Incident Management

  • You will evaluate scenarios to capture and recommend process exception inputs.
  • When high impact issues arise, you will troubleshoot them and communicate real time updates to stakeholders.
  • Managing end to end IT Service Delivery falls under your watch, including shift management and BCP testing.

Compliance & Coordination

  • You will ensure compliance with COPC and ISO 27001 standards.
  • Managing IT ticket resolutions within an ITIL based framework will be part of your routine.
  • Coordinating change requests and maintaining required compliance checks keeps our systems secure.
  • You will perform installation of encryption software and validate policies.

Training & Development

  • Completing all assigned mandatory training within the provided timeframe is essential.
  • You will conduct and participate in regularly scheduled one on one meetings with your direct manager.

Please note that rotational and night shifts are required for this position.

What You Bring to the Team

We are looking for candidates with a strong technical foundation and a hunger to learn. Here are the qualifications and skills you need:

  • Education: You hold a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science.
  • Certifications: MCSE or similar certifications give you an edge.
  • Experience: You have 0 to 6 months of experience supporting desktop and laptop hardware and software in a Windows based PC or LAN environment.
  • Service Management: You possess excellent service management skills with a focus on problem and incident management.
  • Infrastructure Knowledge: You understand network, server, and voice infrastructure.
  • Diagnostic Tools: You are familiar with tools like Ping and Traceroute, and you can troubleshoot DNS resolution.
  • End User Computing: You have experience with both hardware and software aspects of end user computing.
